Which Macs support the AI writing features?
AI-assisted writing (text insertion and reworking) requires a Mac running macOS Tahoe or later with a compatible Apple Silicon chip. The AI runs entirely on-device — no data is sent to any third-party AI provider, keeping your writing 100% private.
Does RetroWriter back up my work?
Yes. RetroWriter auto-saves incrementally, so you never need to hit Cmd+S. It also automatically backs up to your Mac's iCloud account. You can check backup status and trigger a manual backup via the iCloud Backup panel in the app.
How do I export to Google Docs?
Tap Option+Command+O to open the Output/Share panel. Select Google Docs from the export options and follow the prompts to connect your Google account. RetroWriter will only request the permissions needed to create or share the document.
