Last updated: March 20, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of RetroWriter, including the website, application, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Operator
The Service is provided by RetroWriter ("RetroWriter," "we," "us," or "our"). Contact: keir.thomas@gmail.com.
2. Eligibility
You may use the Service only if you can form a binding contract under applicable law and comply with these Terms.
3. Your account and use of the service
You are responsible for information you provide, the security of your devices and credentials, and your use of the Service. You agree not to misuse the Service, interfere with its operation, or use it to violate any law or the rights of others.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you create, upload, or process through RetroWriter. You grant us a limited license to host, process, transmit, and display your content only as necessary to operate and improve the Service features you use.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights to any content you use with the Service.
5. AI and third-party integrations
Some RetroWriter features may rely on third-party providers, device capabilities, cloud services, or AI systems. Outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your intended use. You are responsible for reviewing any generated content before relying on it.
Google, Apple, cloud storage, export, and sharing features may be subject to separate third-party terms and privacy policies.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or infringing activity.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or data.
- Reverse engineer, disrupt, or overload the Service except where prohibited by law.
- Use automated means to scrape or abuse the Service without permission.
7. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time. Features described on the website are informational and may change, including AI, export, backup, and integration features.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its branding, software, design, and site content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not give you ownership of the Service itself.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted availability.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RetroWriter and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from or related to the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose or USD $100.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RetroWriter and its operators from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk, or where required for legal or security reasons.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, excluding conflict of laws rules. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after an updated version becomes effective means you accept the revised Terms.
